Emily and Pete ~ A Beautiful and Relaxed Garden Wedding

Firstly, I just loved being at this wedding, never mind photographing it! The laid back and relaxed, garden party atmosphere which Emily and Pete created for their wedding was just wonderful in every way. They had great company, wonderful food, live music, lawn games, beautiful flowers, yummy ice cream, lots and lots of love, and luckily sunshine too! The recipe for a perfect wedding.

I first met Emily and Pete when I photographed their Pre-Wedding Shoot. You can see it HERE . Straight away, we got on so well and it was clear how perfect Emily and Pete are for each other. I couldn’t have been happier for them on their wedding day. One thing that really sticks in my mind from their wedding day, was just how happy and excited every single person was for Emily and Pete. Their friends and family clearly love them dearly and it was just so apparent as I photographed everyone.

The other thing that I remember so well, was the INCREDIBLE attention to detail and love and care that Emily, Pete and their families had put into their wedding. Emily, a big craft lover, lovingly made every single place mat which doubled up as a thank you gift. Each one had a message on and I made sure that I brought mine home as a reminder of their wonderful day. They also had a photo of every guest as the place names. I had the biggest smile on my face when I saw that Emily had found photos of Samuel and me for our place mats! Emily made absolutely everything in the marquee, including all the bunting, and it looked amazing.

The wedding preparations took place at Quebecs Hotel in Leeds, with the ceremony at Leeds Town Hall and the reception in the garden of Pete’s parents’ house. Guests rode a vintage bus to the reception and were welcomed with yummy Pimms made by their caterers Rubydoo. The summer BBQ was perfect for their relaxed day and the sausages were the best I’ve ever had! Emily, together with her friends and family, made the incredible cakes. I think you will agree they looked too good to eat!

Emily’s friend Rose, who is also a graphic designer, designed all the stationary for their wedding, as well as the menus, cards for the cake table, and table plan. She did an amazing job. Rose has a website which you can see HERE. You can also see the invitations she made for Emily and Pete HERE.

I am so incredibly happy for you both and over the moon that you love your photos. Thank you for inviting me to photograph your day and for the wonderful food, we had such a great time. xx

Emily’s Dad was so happy when he saw her in her dress across the room!I grabbed a few shots of Emily and Pete before we all got on the bus. The light was gorgeous.Emily and Pete decorated the walls around the garden with polaroids of friends and family. It was such a good idea and the guests loved looking at them. The photo below really sums up the atmosphere of their reception. I love how Pete is just chilling out on the grass!Leafy Couture made Emily’s bouquet. I loved the combination of bright colours.I have to mention Pete’s seriously cool style; I just loved the floral shirt and braces. The photo below right, is one of my favourites from the day. Some more favourites!Rose did a fantastic job with the stationary for the table plan. All cakes were lovingly made by Emily and her friends and family. Rose designed the little place cards, which not only had the type of cakes on them, but also who made them. A really lovely touch.I love the way Emily’s Dad is looking at her Mum.This Indian flavoured ice cream was SERIOUSLY good. I had cardamon and it was delicious. The ice cream was by Indie Ices.Pete’s friends played some music before the first dance; it really got the evening in full swing!

Feel free to leave some love for Emily and Pete! Emily is starting a crafts business, which I know will be a great success, as her attention to detail and creativity is amazing. If you would like any of Emily’s handiwork for your wedding do get in touch with Emily; you can find her blog HERE!

Another big thank you to Pete’s friend David Broad for recording some songs for their slideshow! xx
